Who are We & Why are We Raising Funds For?
We are a dynamic group of like-minded individuals and societies united by a shared passion for making a difference at the University of Essex. Together, we form the Essex Synergy Group – a collaborative platform dedicated to innovation, growth, and creating memorable experiences for our university community:

Our goal is to raise £5,000 (£2,500 from us, the other £2,500 matched through Click)to bring the student community a memorable night of celebration, connection, and elegance, bringing together students from all walks of life to mark a historic first for the University of Essex.
Where will the money go?
- Venue Hire + 3 Course Meal: £4,300 est
- Refreshments at Wivenhoe’s house: £350 est
- SU Bar/Top Bar Refreshments/Decorations: £350 est
- If we raise extra funds, they will go towards enhancing the event, including additional refreshments, decorations, and creating an even more spectacular atmosphere for all attendees.
Our Story
Formal balls have always been a hallmark of the university experience – a chance to dress up, connect with others, and create unforgettable memories. As a relatively young university, this inter-society event has never been done before. That’s why together as a collective, we saw an incredible opportunity to make history with Essex’s first-ever intercollaborative ball, designed to celebrate and enhance our vibrant student community.

This is more than just a night of elegance and entertainment. It’s an event to bring students from all backgrounds, foster connections, and set the tone for the future of inter-society events at Essex. By supporting this event, you’re not just attending a ball; you’re becoming part of history. How can I Secure My Spot
1. Create an account on click
2. Log in to click and donate the correct amount which is the minimum of £35 per person.
- When registering on Click: Ensure your first and last name match the details you’ll provide on the Google Form. Additionally, verify your student ID under the ‘Edit Profile’ section on Click.
- Important: Ensure the name on your Click account matches the name you’ll use on the Google Form.
- When you donate £35, the progress bar will automatically display £70. This is because Click (the university's crowdfunding platform) matches your donation pound for pound.
3. Complete the Google Form:
- Sign in to Google and complete the form with your details & select your Starter, Main and Dessert.
- Your data will be securely stored and deleted after the event in compliance with GDPR regulations.

4. Take a Screenshot of Your Donation:
- Capture a screenshot of your donation, ensuring your first name and donation appear under the 'Supporters' section of the New Year's Ball 2025
- Upload this screen
5. Wait for Confirmation:
- After the fundraising ends, we'll send you a confirmation of your donation and a formal invitation.
