Help raise money to feed the less priviledged in Nigeria

I am raising £500 for my non-profit organisation (VFA) outreach program. For the past three years, we have been raising money to feed those in need. In 2017, we fed 200 people. In 2018, we were able to increase that number to 300 and this year, we are planning to feed 400 people. The aim is to:

1) Give some Nigerian youths a volunteering opportunity

2) Provide a free meal to those in need

Based on our estimates, it will cost £2 to feed on person. Apart from the food, part of the money will be used to get school supplies for some of the children. Help us put a smile on the faces of 400+ people this summer.

I am Rasheedat, third year student of Psychology with cognitive neuroscience. I am the founder of VFA, an organisation that aims to improve the volunteering culture among Nigerian youths. My two co-founders are Irebami Taiwo and Ahmed Oyeleke.

Previously, we were able to start planning early and raise the required amount way in advance. However, due to my final year exams this year - things have slowed down a bit. We only have 10 days to raise the required amount.

I hope that we at least are able to raise the minimum amount so that the outreach can still take place. If we meet the target, that will be really amazing. £300 helps us reach roughly about 200 people, but with £500, we can do double that! Amazing right?

All of the money raised will be used to purchase the food items, food packaging items and pay for services. Here is the breakdown in Naira (pounds):

The above breakdown is for £500 - which will cover 400 people.

Every year, since 2017, the VFA volunteers take free food to the Home for the destitutes in Ebute metta, Lagos, Nigeria.

Their quest for shelter life draws the lepers, the blind and the crippled to this place. They survive begging for alms, hawking and menial jobs.

They are mostly there with their children, waiting on the mercies of others

to eat,

to feed their kids,

to survive.
