We are raising money to buy better camping equipment for the club. This will mean that we are able to offer a more comfortable experience for our members who do not own their own equipment. This will especially encourage our newest members to come on trips with us and get more outdoor experience.
Who are WE?
We are the University of Essex Climbing club. Our goal is to try and make trips as cheap for our members so they are able to take part in all these amazing adventures with us and not have to burden themselves with a lot of the cost.
our story
The experiences that these trips provide are very valuable. There is no feeling comparable to sending your first outdoor climb. Without these trips, members would not be able to have the full experience of climbing. Camping equipment will go towards making sure the trip is cost effective for all our members buying a lot of equipment for themselves or paying to stay in a B&B or motel for the duration of the trip is very costly.
Where will the money go?
Sleeping Bags cost £38 per bag x6 = £228
Sleeping mats cost £10 a mat x6 = £60
The total sums £288
Any extra money will go towards subsiding the cost of fuel for trips to make them cheaper for members. As this quantity is variable we are setting a goal of £400 (£112 for the fuel)
