what is this University Tennis Tournament?
The University of Essex has been invited to take part in the 3rd PCU International University Tennis Tournament which is held at Dubna University in Russia near Moscow. The tournament runs from the 19th to the 21st of October, including flights 18th to 22nd. The tournament is to promote fair play and universal friendship. The first day of the tournament consists of a round robin, 1 Male (Josh) & 1 Female (Amore) from the University of Essex and then playoffs are the following day.
The University of Essex has chosen AMORE & JOSH to represent them. So who are we?
Hello my name is Amore Castelyn and I study at the University of Essex. As a sports fanatic I love new experiences and I've been told by my friends that I'm very motivated about sport. I can't wait for the trip to Dubna and representing the University of Essex is an honour. I see this trip as a great opportunity and start to my tennis career that I hope one day will be a reality. I cannot wait to interact with the other players and gain the experience of having a ball boy/girl and an umpire on the court. When it comes to tennis I have a great passion for the sport and see myself as a fun and a enthusiastic person. This trip is going to be one amazing experience where we can make new friends and memories with the team and just over all have a great tournament.
Hello my name is Josh Pollard and I also study at the University of Essex. I have been involved with tennis my whole life whether it's been competing, playing socially or coaching. It has been a fun journey. I have competed all over the UK but never abroad and to have the opportunity to play competitive tennis in Russia is something special. I will do the very best I can to embrace this experience.
