Student nurse Emma is fundraising for her volunteering placement in Sri Lanka

I'm Emma, a 2nd-year student nurse, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to travel to Sri Lanka with Travelteer as a volunteer to work alongside Sri Lankan health professionals.

I hope to raise £1600 to go to Sri Lanka for a nursing placement.  This will help further my skills as a student nurse and also help my career going forward. It will give me insights into different cultural and medical practices. Along with helping empower communities and improve lives.

Travelteers' nursing programmes have been developed in partnership with government and private hospitals and local healthcare practitioners in Sri Lanka to provide ethical work experience for nursing and midwifery students.

The programme provides students like myself with direct access to Sri Lanka's healthcare system, providing a real insight into one of the busiest medical environments in the world, including various forms of healthcare found in Sri Lankan communities; as a volunteer, I would be shadowing practitioners in both Western and Ayurvedic fields.

Help us succeed!

  • I would sincerely appreciate it if you would consider donating today. Every contribution, regardless of size, will make a meaningful impact on not just me but the work that travelteer do supporting great global projects. Thank you :)
