A Theatre and arts festival celebrating the culture of Southend-on-Sea each year. Southend Fringe Festival had its first run in July 2016. The festival took place inside two venues in the heart of the sunny, sea-side town; with performances varying from theatre, spoken word, Shakespeare, music and puppetry!
As we approach our fourth year we look forward to the broad scope of submissions we receive and helping those artists gain a platform to share their ideas and visions.
The festival is run by the students of East 15 Acting School's Southend Campus and this whole project was created from nothing. One tutor, believed enough in the skills and work presented by the young people involved to suggest that we created our own festival. We hope to incorporate our passion for theatre into the community and cultural landscape of Southend.
We have a large group of passionate students working together to put forward something amazing into the Southend community. This passion and drive of the individuals involved will help us overcome any risks and challenges that we face. We just need some help to make this the best Southend Fringe yet!
Why We need your help?
All money raised through Click will go towards necessities for the festival such as: venue hire, lighting and sound equipment, merchandise and ticketing materials.
Minimum needed to cover these costs: £500
Ideally we would like to be raise : £1250 which will help us cover all other additional expenses such as costumes and promotional materials.
We are working hard to not only create this years' festival but set up a template that can carry on after we graduate, there for any profit made from the festival will go straight into next year.
We also have some fab Southend Fringe Festival merchandise, goodies and rewards to give away to anyone who donates!!
