Wildlife Sense is a sea turtle research and conservation organisation with a mission to protect endangered sea turtles and their natural habitats. This is an amazing opportunity to become a part of a volunteering team to help young turtles hatch safely, and protect the environment from pollution. I would be participating in the September session and watching extraordinary young turtles in the hatching process! :)
About me
My name is Mantile and I am a student in Biological Sciences. As I have always been passionate about nature and its environment, the possibility to take part in this project would be a once in a lifetime experience. I truly hope that I will get a chance to participate in this project and then share photos with you all!
the role
Me and the volunteering team will be surveying the beaches to find new nests, then measure and mark them to protect from any accidental damage or attacks from predators. Furthermore, we will be regularly measuring levels of light pollution to help them reach the sea safely and not to crawl into the wrong direction. We will also be removing plastics washed up on the beach to ensure they do not return into the sea to kill turtles and other animals. This volunteering project is important to me because of the environment safety and protecting endangered sea turtles and animals alike.
Where will the money go?
