A short summary of your project
RPG stands for Role-Playing Games: these can be anything from your typical Dungeons and Dragons to a variety of other systems but usually involves a GM (Game Master) who tells the story and Players who interact with the world through their characters. We are the University of Essex RPG society and we are trying to raise fund to buy new handbooks for our members
Who are you?
The RPG society has been active at the University of Essex for 5 years and each year we host dozens of games every single day of the week! And in order to keep this up we have started this crowdfunding campaign. This year we will also be introducing more social nights in which we play board, tabletop, and trading card games as well as one-shot campaigns which we were hoping would help in getting lesser known systems a spotlight.
We are raising funds through this crowdfunding campaign in order to be able to buy more player and DM handbooks. We are hoping that this will facilitate games and character creation as well as expand the horizons of our members in terms of new systems.
This is extremely important for us because for so long we have been relying on our members to bring their own books, which is fine but we want to provide them, because each book can be quite a commitment.
By donating you'll be assuring not only this year's but all forthcoming years' members of the society will be benefited by the purchase of these books ^_^
Where will the money go?
Each book typically costs between £20 and £30 which would allow us to buy at least 10 new books though hopefully more.
We will be asking our members for their suggestions and opinions on which system's books to buy so a detailed breakdown is out of the scope for now
We have some fab rewards to thank everyone who donates, whatever the amount you might give. Check them out!
All donors also get three votes towards choosing which books should be purchased. Books will be purchased from most to least popular until we run out of funds. You cannot get more than three votes by donating multiple times.
Help us succeed!
- You don't need to give money to help us succeed! Please share this project with anyone you think would support us – on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, by email, telephone, in a chat over the fence or on your blog.
- In fact, share it with everyone you know as we think it's a great idea, and the more people who know about it, the more likely we are to make this work out brilliantly.
- And we know we said you don't need to give money to help us, but we'd love it if you did! Please sponsor us and help make this happen.
