It is a story about memories and reflections, self-isolation and self-reconciliation.

A short summary of your project

We are raising £2,478 for producing an autobiographical play, called Passing Through Every Part of the Brain. It is a story about memories and reflections, self-isolation and self-reconciliation. Throughout the play, the character of Me keeps himself in an isolated space with “white” walls. This is an isolated place that indulges Me with comfort and protects him from darkness, where he can enjoy his own solitude. He lives within the space with imaginary shadows of his subconsciousness, the imaginary voices from his past and distant relationship -- his mother, his girlfriend and his close friend. The play is presented by Bodies For Rent theatre company and it is also writer and director Jiazheng's final project for his MFA.

Jiazheng says: "Is being depressed a mental health problem or a form of self-protection? Being depressed might provide an isolated space that we can stay alone and feel ourselves. We live among people from the beginning to the end, but we exist first and foremost as individuals. How can we reconcile with ourselves?"
