About the Project
Sisu presents The Incursion: A Double Bill, two new plays Gnawings and Bottleneck. Written and directed by Olivia Catchpole and Madeleine Carter. Season: 2-6 July @ The Bread & Roses Theatre, London.
In Gnawings we meet a strange family sitting at the dinner table. How important are the things we do not say? What if we leave them unsaid, untouched, unexpressed? It’s quality family time… Just keep moving!
Bottleneck takes us to a desolate landscape where we find four people living on a beach made of trash. What makes them believe that this beach is the most beautiful place they have ever been?
The Incursion presents two tragicomedies exploring the consequences of human action; the greed, isolation and pain that results when we fail to see the truth behind what invades us. Power meets pride, memories become dreams and the ugly is made beautiful.
About the Company
Sisu Theatre is founded by students from the BA World Performance and BA Acting & Community Theatre courses at East 15 Acting School. Sisu is a Finnish concept meaning “strength, bravery and resilience”. We aim to communicate current issues in a way that gives audiences the opportunity to enact real change beyond the theatre experience. Core team: Vilma Savolai, Madeleine Carter & Olivia Catchpole.
