A short summary of OUR project
"The year is 2005. In the University of Verona, the Nerds and the Jocks are forever locked in fierce competition to prove which clique is superior. However, when hopeless romantic geek Romeo and Olympic-level athlete Jules fall madly in love, they must find a way to keep their secret love hidden from each of their circles." This is a new, adapted version of the Shakespearean classic Romeo and Juliet, written, directed, produced, and performed all by TAS members.
Who are WE?
The Theatre Arts Society and its members produce exciting shows every year. From Shakespeare to Panto, we are committed to providing a fun space for performers to grow.
our story
Our shows are the centre point of our society and bring together so many people each time round. On average, 25-30 people are closely involved with each show throughout the term. So many friendships are made within the cast and crew, and people go on to develop confidence, skills within the arts, and so many more valuable attributes. We have room for everyone's interests, so people can write, direct, act, design the costumes and set, operate the lighting and sound consoles, produce the show, assist backstage, etc. We love to give our members the environment where they can embrace being themselves and develop quality life skills through performance.
Where will the money go?
We are raising money to fund this show and future TAS shows. The more money we can spend on shows, the better the production value and experience for both audiences and those involved in the show. We love to put on unforgettable experiences for our members.
Money will be spent on:
- Venue funding
- Costuming
- Set Design
- Promotion
Rewards
