We're raising £4,360 to host the Law Society X ELSA Law Ball, a glamorous event celebrating the hard work of law and non-law students alike. This unforgettable night will feature a three-course meal, casino-themed entertainment, and personalised souvenirs. With your support, we can bring this vision to life and create an incredible networking and social experience for everyone attending!
Who are you?
The Essex Law Society, one of the largest and oldest societies on campus, is collaborating with the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) to bring you the Casino Royale Law Ball. Both societies strive to provide events that prepare law and non-law students for careers in law, offering opportunities for networking and personal growth. Together, we uphold the tradition of celebrating hard work and excellence through our annual law ball, fostering mutual understanding and intercultural cooperation.
Where will the money go?
Our minimum target will enable us to cover the following:
- Deposit & hiring the venue: £300
- Three-course meal: £4060
- Casino theme of the Ball, decorations, & games. We would also be able to give away personalised souvenirs to everyone attending £1,240
How can i secure my spot
Choose your pledge amount based on the reward you wish to claim. Then choose the reward.
If you are happy to, please select “Show name and amount” under the “Gift Visibility” section. If you wish to remain anonymous, please ensure you follow all of the steps for the Google form (below) so we can find your donation.
Enter your full name and university email in the details section. If you do not have a university email, please use your personal email. Please ensure that the name you enter corresponds exactly with the name you intend to use on the Google Form.
Scroll down to the “Current Student” section and choose yes/no according to your status. If you choose “yes”, please enter your PRID.
When you make a donation, the progress bar will automatically reflect double your contribution. This is because Click, the university's crowdfunding platform, matches your donation on a pound-for-pound basis. For instance, if you contribute £35, the progress bar will show £70.

7. Complete the Google Form:
- Sign in to Google and complete this form with your details here. Enter your name. PRID, and amount donated. Then select the Starter, Main and Dessert for your 3-course meal. All food options are halal, so please ensure you specify any dietary restrictions, as we will cater to your specific needs.
- Your data will be securely stored and deleted following the event, in accordance with GDPR regulations.
8. Wait for Confirmation:
- Once we have gathered all the necessary information, a representative from the executive team will contact you with your formal invitation.
