SUPPORT FRICTION BURN'S TEAM! A NEW ABSURD AND DARK COMEDY.
Hi! We are Precipice Theatre and we are raising money to bring our show 'Friction Burn' to the Camden Fringe this summer (at The Hope theatre, 20th-23rd August, 7pm).
'Friction Burn' was performed for the first time at Debut Festival 2023, last February and is now programmed in three different venues, including the Hope Theatre for the Camden Fringe.
ABOUT 'PRECIPICE THEATRE' AND THE TEAM
Precipice Theatre's team is composed by Léah Bonaventura, founder and Artistic Director and by Sophie Faurie, Associate Artist, two young Theatre Makers fresh out of East 15's diversely creative Acting and Contemporary Theatre course headed by Uri Roodner.
The name is in itself a reflection of the kind of work Precipice aim to create- theatre bold enough to stand on the edge to the unknown. Their work is pumping with adrenaline and that butterfly tingly feeling and they welcome anyone who is willing to take the plunge with them.
'Precipice Theatre' has a devotion to stories that are forgotten or omitted for fear of 'being difficult'- instead they seek to find the collective comfort in the most uncomfortable of areas.
About Friction Burn
Friction Burn was written by Sophie Faurie and directed by Léah Bonaventura for Debut Festival 2023. The show was a great success and enabled the company to get multiple transfers this year (Fuse International Festival in July, Camden Fringe in August and The Space Theatre in November).
One noose, two lovers and live music!
A couple, entangled in the habit of manipulative love games, try to have an honest conversation in an effort to save their relationship - currently hanging on by a thread.
Do you really know the person you want to tie yourself to forever?
An absurd and dark comedy unafraid to look at toxic relationships and laugh. Featuring live music that underscores the farce of two people learning how to love each other - especially when 'being in love' and 'being loved' are two very different things.
"Two poignant, nuanced performances, in a magical Becketian contemplation of life and escape. A brilliant directorial and playwright Debut", Uri Roodner
