A short summary of your project

The production explores how to navigate healthy romantic relationships after experiencing an unhealthy one (especially as first). In fact, our plot follows the main character, called Rosie, as she's trying to deal with the emotional scars left by an abusive relationship she's had in the past.

Through frequent flashbacks, deep conversations and seldom fights with her closest friends; Rosie stumbles as she dates the lovely Sofia. She's her perfect partner, but will Rosie let herself be seen? Or is risking letting her guard down too much to ask of herself?

The aims of the film are to raise awareness not only about abuse in relationships but also about how different people deal with its repercussions in very different ways and how these are all ok.

It advocates for therapy, boundaries and speaking out about mental health difficulties with loved ones. It shows its audience that we all struggle and we should be there for each other, rather than using it as an excuse to hurt other people. The film also explores what sex can mean to different people at different times.

It's ultimately aiming for its audience to walk out of the movie theatre feeling like they're not walking their path alone. And if they just look around them, they might find that yes, the path is not easy. But that's all the more reason to enjoy the climb.

Where will the money go?

We have been so lucky as to have already had people invest in the project, which has allowed us to buy some equipment. This crowdfund is specifically to raise funds for an intimacy coordinator, a figure we believe is necessary on set.

• The full £2000 will go towards paying an intimacy coordinator for the scenes where this role is required. we believe hiring a professional from outside for this role is very important as we want to keep the actors comfortable throughout the delicate process of rehearsing and filming these scenes. This is a hired professional who will work with us for a number of days. The amount we need corresponds to industry standard.
• We plan to raise this amount by the middle of June, end of June at the latest, so we can proceed with our process and hopefully finish the film by the beginning of August!
