My project
I am campaigning to raise £1200 to attend a week long professional Volleyball camp from the 25th of June to the 2nd of July in Potenza Picena MC, Italy.
Who am i?
My name is Gary House. I am a Masters student studying Organized Crime, Terrorism and Security at the University of Essex in England, where I also play Volleyball for the University Sports Performance Program. Throughout the year I have received top recognition as MVP from British Universities & College Sport (BUCS) and National Volleyball League (NVL). Prior to coming to England I played professional volleyball in Slovenia where I had the highest attack efficiency on my team. The skills I developed there combined with the skills I developed in University helped me lead our NVL team, Team Essex Volleyball Club (TEVC) to win the Division 1 title. Following graduating I plan to return to playing professional.
WHy italy?
At the camp there will be 40 Sports directors along with 20 coaches from the A1 and A2 Leagues around Italy, looking to sign players for the upcoming season. The Italian A1 league is arguably the best in the world and the Italian A2 league is one of the best in Europe. Some of the most renowned coaches in the sport will be running the camp including:
Gianco D'Amico- Lube A1
Alberto Giuliani- Piacenza A1
Adriano Di Pinto- Porto Potenza A2
Keky Cadeddu- Polisportiva Cartagine A1 Tunisia
Gianluca Graziosi -Bergamo A2
In the long run, being signed to one of these leagues would give me a plethora of opportunities to return to the professional sphere.
Where will the money go?
The only cost of the camp is accommodation. They have partnered with the Natural Village Di Porto Potenza in Potenza Picena MC, Italy.
Full board accommodation costs £85 per day, £595 for the whole week
Round trip flights to Acona (AIO) airport from London are £200.
Round trip travel to and from the airport £60
Any funds I raise above my minimum will go towards:
Rental car for a week and petrol £120
Experiencing the Italian culture and unforeseen circumstances £200
