THIS BLOODY WEDDING

 

You are invited to the wedding of the beautiful, gorgeous, and young Camila... and Antonio. 

A magical celebration that will certainly remind you why you’re better off single!

 

This Bloody Wedding is an immersive comedy by TIA Theatre Company. Inspired by Telenovela style, this show brings to life the dream of crashing a wedding and living the drama as your own. 

The audience will follow seven characters, each hiding secrets. Some known, some for you to find. Through each character´s journey, the audience will have the chance to either save the wedding... or cause more chaos.

 

Dare to step inside, but choose wisely which guest to follow…

 

Each night offers a different perspective by a different character and timeline. Revealing new layers of the story with every visit.

From the creator of Not in the Genes, this new production invites audiences to laugh and question everything.

Expect love, notice the lies, and make sure you count the heads! After all, this is not just a wedding... It´s a Telenovela.

TIA THEATRE COMPANY

 

This Summer, on the 6th, 7th, and 8th of August, TIA will bring This Bloody Wedding to Camden People's Theatre in London, as part of the Camden Fringe.

And we are raising funds with a prize draw, with some fun prizes from the show, to make this possible. 

TIA´S MISSION

We are an international and diverse theatre company. And our main values are creating a safe environment for the audience and cast, entertaining, spreading this hidden culture of Telenovelas-on-Stage, exploring further immersive and interactive theatre, and exposing real-life issues through comedy.

 

Following the company´s creative style and mission, This Bloody Wedding is an interactive production inspired by Telenovelas. 

In this way, the project invites the audience to collaborate with very high-stressed characters, as well as deal with their character´s bad decisions. Every character is inspired by characteristics of real people, being represented in an extreme way. 

What we expect from the audience is that they have a great and fun time watching the show, and that when they leave, they leave with a different sense of relationships or behaviors than they had when they came in. 

We want to continue spreading this theatre style that is so underrepresented. While immersive theatre is well established in the UK, and telenovelas are loved across the world, productions that combine the two remain incredibly rare.

TELENOVELAS

Most people think telenovelas are exaggerated, absurd realities, impossible drama. However, they exaggeratedly expose real-life human characteristics to create comedy. 

This Bloody Wedding exaggeratedly exposes insecurity, manipulation, lies, affairs, overconfidence, desperation, jealousy, and selfishness, among others.

Mainly, this show explores the many ways we define, pursue, and misunderstand love.

 

Through humor, we invite audiences to recognize that these exaggerated situations often reflect real-life experiences.

We believe theatre can entertain and provoke thought at the same time. 

Our goal is for audiences to leave having enjoyed a joyful and very chaotic evening while also reflecting on the relationships and choices in our lives.

The money raised will be used to cover costs such as

  • Venue hire (£3319.2)
  • Festival participation fees (£210)
  • Set and props (£150)
  • Costumes (£80)
  • Marketing and publicity (£50)
  • Transport and production logistics (£400)
  • Actors´ Insurance (£150)

 

If the target is exceeded, funds will be used to improve the production, bring it to the next venue, and to continue creating this art and spreading it around.
