MY PROJECT

I am currently raising funds to cover the expenses of my trip to Shanghai where I will carry out a 4 -week Internship with Absolute Internship. This opportunity will allow me to combine my love for traveling and experiencing new cultures, with developing skills and knowledge I have acquired through my degree in Accounting and Finance. Being able to go to Shanghai presents a life changing opportunity. Not only will it allow me to enhance my CV and stand out in an academic environment, it also presents the opportunity to learn about a new culture, society and a way of living. Not many have such a great opportunity to experience such things and with your help, I will be able to.

Who aM I ?

My name is Natalie Hackett , I am a second year Accounting and Finance student at the University of Essex. I am a U.K Home student from South London. As a peer mentor and peer engagement ambassador, I am a proactive student who believes in making the most of all the opportunities that are presented whilst encouraging and helping others in the process. I believe this internship will allow me to develop myself personally and professionally. Personally, as I will be in a position to help encourage young people, like myself, whilst taking steps in my desired career path of becoming a chartered Accountant.

ABSOLUTE INTERNSHIP

I will be undertaking this internship through Absolute Internships, which is a programme that matches university students with international work experiences in elite cities around the world through their links with over 500 global companies. They are a reputable programme with features in media publications like The New York Times, the BBC, BloombergBusiness, Reuters and Forbes Magazine.

Where will the money go?

  • If the minimum is raised, the money will go to the outstanding programme fee of  £2245. (The fee includes accommodation, travel to and from work, airport pick up, weekend excursions and networking events)
  • Any extra money raised will go to living expenses for the month.
